Climate Change
Human activity, powered by burning fossil fuels, is changing Earth’s climate. All levels of government have committed to reduction targets by 2030 and 2050. Waterloo Region’s local governments have committed to a climate action plan to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. The plan has set goals and a strategy for transportation, workplaces/schools, homes, agriculture and waste.
Issue: Meeting our reduction targets will involve everyone in the region, and public pressure to ensure local government and our community meets our goals.
